Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Harassing of Tenants.

Richard Bruton

Question:

29 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the difficulty encountered by Dublin Corporation in taking action against families who are harassing their neighbours; and the proposals, if any, he has to help the corporation to deal more effectively with such cases.

The management of their rented dwellings, including the enforcement of the conditions of tenancy, is the responsibility of the local authority and I have no direct role in the matter. I will, of course, be happy to consider any proposals the corporation may have for new or extended statutory provisions to deal with the matter.
