Vol. 426 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant for Wexford Swimming Pool.

Question:

95 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the swimming pool in Bunclody, County Wexford is administered and financed by the local community; the value of this facility to the community; and if he will allocate grant aid to refurbish the facility which is 20 years old.

Consideration of a possible grant for a particular swimming pool project does not arise unless and until a proposal is submitted by the relevant local authority. No such proposal has been submitted by Wexford County Council to my Department in respect of this pool.
