Vol. 427 No. 3

Written Answers. - EC Electricity Subsidy Applications.

Enda Kenny

Question:

21 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if his attention has been drawn to the fact that over 100 cases for EC electricity subsidy have not been dealt with for several months; when the review on this project will cease; if he will instruct and authorise approved cases to be implemented immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A number of applications which had been held up pending a review of available funds were approved in early January and the only applications on hand in my Department relating to the farm electrification grants scheme are those for which further details have been sought from the applicants so that a decision on their eligibility for aid can be reached. Future options in relation to the operation of the scheme are still under consideration.
