Vol. 427 No. 4

Written Answers. - Roscommon Water Scheme.

John Connor

Question:

42 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for the Environment when he will allocate funds to commence work on the Druminardley, Rooskey, County Roscommon, group water scheme; and the reason for the delay in issuing sanction for this scheme.

This scheme was designed to serve 110 households and farms. So far, only 42 households appear to have pledged themselves to participation in the scheme. As a result, group water scheme grants of £700 per house and £500 per farm would amount to less than 25 per cent of overall costs and would be insufficient to finance the scheme.
