Vol. 427 No. 8

Written Answers. - Legislation Reform.

Question:

153 Mr. R. Bruton and Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the plans, if any, he has to legislate to provide the tax and other incentives promised in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997 for a national voluntary scheme of work sharing; and the Exchequer costs involved.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a question on this topic on 18 February last. Until the matter is considered further in discussions with IBEC and the ICTU, it is not possible to anticipate whether legislation or possible Exchequer costs will be involved.
