Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - Robertstown (Kildare) Sewerage Scheme.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

249 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment the reason work has not commenced on the Robertstown sewerage scheme; the changes, if any, which are proposed in the contract; if additional works are to be incorporated; if additional costs are involved; if a contractor has been appointed/recommended; if it is intended to proceed on the basis of existing proposals or recommendations in respect of the contractor costs having regard to the public capital programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A revised tender proposal for the Robertstown Sewerage Scheme has recently been submitted by Kildare County Council and is under consideration in my Department. The tender proposal is based on a design prepared by the county council and covers only works identified by this design and by the tender documents. The scheme is currently being considered in the context of possible EC financing.
