Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - Road Ramp Specifications.

Derek McDowell

Question:

248 Mr. D. McDowell asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a request from Dublin Corporation in relation to proposed alterations in the general specifications for road ramps; if so, when such a request was received; and the response which has been given.

A comprehensive review of the Road Traffic (Bollards and Ramps) Regulations, 1988, which apply to the provision of road ramps, is being carried out. As part of that review, local authorities were asked to furnish their views in relation to the provisions of the regulations and their experience in the use of ramps. Arising from that, Dublin Corporation submitted views in August 1992. These and other replies are being considered and I hope to complete the review in the near future.
