Question:

269 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm that the group water scheme at Caheragh, Drimoleague, County Cork can now proceed and that funding will be made available therefor.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 266, 267 and 269 together.

Group scheme grants and contributions from group members are unlikely to suffice to finance these three schemes, which in consequence, may require a substantial contribution from the provision for public water and sanitary services schemes. Having regard to the over all demands on the Water and Sanitary Services programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve the schemes.

268 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm that the group water scheme at Dromgarriffe, Glengarriffe, County Cork, can now proceed and that funding will be made available therefor.

Grants for this group water scheme have recently been approved.
