Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John O'Leary

Question:

347 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the present position regarding the application of a person (details supplied) in County Kerry for a substantial increase in his milk quota; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application form for the Milk Quota Appeals Tribunal was issued to the above-named producer some time ago. There is no record that the application form was subsequently submitted to my Department.

Donal Carey

Question:

348 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid a headage grant and a beef premium; and when the files were passed from the Ennis Office.

This person was paid his grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage scheme in mid-March 1993. His application for grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and, if found in order payment will be made shortly.

The relevant files were passed from the Ennis Office on 1 March 1993.

His December 1992 special beef premium scheme and suckler cow premium scheme applications will be processed in due course.

Donal Carey

Question:

349 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid a headage grant; and when the file was passed from the Ennis Office.

This person was paid his grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage scheme in mid-March 1993. This grant was approved for payment on 2 March 1993.

He has been deemed ineligible for grants under the 1992 special beef premium scheme because some of the 10 animals on which he applied for premium were ineligible heifers. Furthermore, under EC rules, he must be debarred from the scheme for twelve months.

His 1992 suckler cow premium scheme application will be processed in due course.
