This person was paid his grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme in early March 1993. His December 1992 application for grants under the special beef premium scheme will be processed in due course.

Question:358 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the non-payment of a sheep headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.
The person named did not apply for any grants under the 1992 sheep headage scheme. However, he did apply under the 1992 ewe premium scheme and the three instalments of this premium were paid to him on 22 September 1992, 16 November 1992 and 10 March 1993.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1992 special beef premium scheme was rejected by computer at validation stage. The error is being dealt with by the local livestock office at present. When rectified, his application will be processed further for payment.
