Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - St. Patrick's Day Celebrations.

Jim Higgins

Question:

369 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the countries recently visited by him in connection with St. Patrick's Day celebrations; the countries visited by the Minister of State in his Department; the composition of the official party; and the total cost to the Exchequer in each case.

Neither I nor the Ministers of State at my Department visited another country in connection with St. Patrick's Day celebrations. While in Brussels for a meeting of the Council of Ministers I paid a courtesy call to the Irish Club at lunch-time on 17 March 1993.

The Ministers of State at my Department, Deputies Hyland and O'Shea spent St. Patrick's Day in Portlaoise and Waterford respectively.
