Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - Sexual Assault Treatment Unit Funding.

Nora Owen

Question:

424 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health the funding, if any, he has made available for 1993 for the sexual assault unit in the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin 1; and the rate which is paid to the professionals running this Department.

The Sexual Assault Treatment Unit is funded from within the annual revenue allocation which is given by my Department to the Rotunda Hospital. I understand that doctors staffing the unit are paid a call-in fee of £25 for the first visit and £10 per subsequent visit, the on-call allowances of £4.17 for the period 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., £3.33 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., £17.50 between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., and £30 per day for Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
