455 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Health the number of persons with a mental handicap who are in receipt of full disabled person's maintenance allowance; and the number of persons in receipt of reduced DPMA for each health board area.
The returns submitted by the health boards to my Department do not provide a breakdown of DPMA recipients between the different disability categories i.e. mental handicap, physical disability and mental illness. The attached table gives information on the total number of people with disabilities in receipt of full and partial DPMA in each health board area.
