Vol. 428 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Clearance Certificate.

Michael Creed

Question:

144 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in issuing a tax clearance certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that an application for a tax clearance certificate was received in the Collector-General's Office from the person concerned on 15 February 1993.

The application has been processed and a tax clearance certificate was issued to the person concerned on 16 March 1993.

The turn-around time in processing applications for tax clearance has lengthened somewhat due to the substantial increase in the volume of tax clearance applications being received. Additional resources are being assigned to processing applications for tax clearance certificates in order to maintain an efficient service to applicants.

The Revenue Commissioners regret any inconvenience that may have been caused to the person concerned.
