Vol. 428 No. 5

Written Answers. - EC Directive Implementation.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

149 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if the directive from the European Community of 27 November 1990, amending Directive 90/425/EEC relating to rules concerning the processing of animal waste and the placement on the market of the final product and in particular Chapter II, Article 3 (d) thereof, is in operation; if not, the reason for this; when this directive will be enforceable; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Because of the large number of EC directives relating to the Single Market to be implemented, the drafting of the national legislation to give effect to Directive 90/667/EEC of 27 November 1990 has not yet been completed. It is expected that national legislation to implement this directive in its entirety will be put into effect in the near future.
