138 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction proposals of Ennis UDC to improve the quality of water delivered from the Drumcliff source and also funds to carry out a comprehensive test at the Pauladawer source; and if the application will be sanctioned to proceed in 1993.

Preliminary proposals for improvements to the Ennis water supply are under consideration in my Department at present. Having regard to the existing level of commitments on the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to say when a decision may be made.
