Question:148 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Defence if there are any plans to make the Naval headquarters at Haulbowline, Cork the administrative headquarters of the Naval Service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no plans to relocate the administrative headquarters of the Naval Service from Dublin to Cork. While all other Permanent Defence Force units of the Naval Service are situated at the Naval Base at Haulbowline, County Cork it is considered more appropriate that the administrative HQ of the service should remain a part of Defence Forces Headquarters in Dublin.
