Vol. 429 No. 3

Written Answers. - Coláistí Samhraidh Gaeilge.

Pat Upton

Question:

240 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education if it is necessary for all Coistí who run Coláistí Samhraidh Gaeilge to be properly registered and incorporated in order to be officially recognised.

My Department does not maintain a register of coistí who organise Coláistí Samhraidh Gaeilge. Coistí may apply to have courses approved under my Department's scheme of grants for such courses; it is the courses, rather than the coistí, which must meet the conditions which are specified for inclusion in this scheme. It is not necessary for coistí to be incorporated as limited companies to run these courses.
