Question:251 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Education if an extension of school transport to Rathbane School from the Boley area of Bofeenaun, Ballina, County Mayo will be approved.

The service from the Boley area, which operated up to the end of the summer term 1992, cannot be re-established by my Department because an insufficient number of eligible children — four — is offering for transport.
As is normal in such situations, my Department has offered alternative grant-aid towards the cost of private transport arrangements for those children who qualify. One family qualified for grant-aid.
