Vol. 429 No. 3

Written Answers. - Mullaghmore (Clare) Centre.

Peter Barry

Question:

92 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to a statement concerning the Mullaghmore centre emanating from a meeting in Corofin, County Clare, on 15 February 1993 that Burren farmers may close their lands and prohibit visitors access; if so, his views on this statement; the action, if any, he proposes to take if this occurs; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware that some landowners have stated that they may close off access to the public. I am naturally concerned that this may create difficulties, but the question of access is a matter for the landowners concerned, since the property in question is privately-owned.
