Question:96 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of legal claims under the 1992 equality provisions which have been settled and the average amount of settlements.

The delay, from December 1984 to November 1986, in implementing EC Directive 79/7 on equal treatment between men and women in matters of social security is currently the subject of court proceedings and it would be inappropriate to make any statement in the matter.
