Standing Order 93: Motion.

I move:

That, with effect from 27th April, 1993 until further notice in the 27th Dáil, Standing Order 93 of the Standing Orders of Dáil Éireann relative to Public Business be amended by the addition of the following subsection after subsection (2):—

(3) Unless the Dáil shall otherwise order, the speech of the member of the Government or Minister of State proposing the motion for the second reading of the Bill, and the main spokesperson nominated by each of the groups, as defined in Standing Order 89, shall not exceed thirty minutes in each case and the member of the Government or Minister of State proposing, or such other member as he may authorise in that behalf, shall be entitled to not less than fifteen minutes for a speech in reply; the speech of any other member in the course of the debate shall not exceed twenty minutes.
