Vol. 429 No. 5

Written Answers. - National School Extension.

Jim Higgins

Question:

57 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position in relation to the application for a school extension for Culleens national school, Ballina, County Mayo.

My Department has no record of the receipt of an application for an extension to the school referred to by the Deputy. If a copy of the application is supplied the matter will be considered and a decision conveyed to the school authorities.

Mary Harney

Question:

58 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education, in view of the conditions (details supplied) at Rahan national school, Mallow, County Cork, when she intends to commence work on the promised extension.

The proposed extension to Rahan national school is at the initial stage of planning. It was not possible, because of other demands deemed to be of higher priority which had to take precedence, to include the project in the Primary Schools Capital Programme for 1993. It will continue to be considered for inclusion in the programme in due course in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.
