174 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if it is proposed to include projects based on the development of facilities for equine sports in the scope of Ireland's programme for the next phase of the EC Structural Fund action.
The position as regards Structural Funds for the post-1993 period is that my Department has forwarded broad proposals to the Department of Finance covering the agriculture, rural development, food and forestry areas.
These proposals are still being considered in the context of finalising Ireland's National Development Plan which will be submitted by the Government to the EC Commission within the next few months.
I would expect that a programme related to the development of the equine industry will be part of the new arrangements.
