Question:

222 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of a beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment will be issued.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1992 special beef premium scheme was rejected when subjected to validation check by computer. The problem with the application is being dealt with at present and when it is resolved the application will be processed further and if found in order payment will then be made.

223 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in paying a beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

This applicant's June 1992 special beef premium scheme grant has been delayed because of a clerical error. The error has now been rectified and the application is being processed further and if found in order payment will then be made.

His December 1992 special beef premium scheme application will be processed as soon as possible.
