Vol. 429 No. 6

Written Answers. - Coillte Forests.

Edward Nealon

Question:

244 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the total area of Coillte forests in counties Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Roscommon and Mayo; the general ages of these forests; the amount of forests being planted by Coillte Teoranta in these counties annually; and the plans for the sales of mature timber and of thinnings from these areas.

The matters raised in the Deputy's question are of an operational nature, responsibility for which is now exercised by Coillte Teoranta pursuant to the Forestry Act, 1988. I have, however, passed a copy of the Deputy's question to Coillte Teoranta requesting that the company correspond directly with the Deputy.
