Question:300 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health when the Nursing Home Act will be implemented providing subvention beds; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Negotiations are under way with the nursing home associations and other interest groups about a new system of subventing persons in nursing homes under the Health (Nursing Homes) Act, 1990. It is my intention to implement the Act when agreement has been reached with the interest groups concerned on the new subvention system.
