69 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of the projects from South Tipperary which are included in the National Plan being prepared for Brussels; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The National Development Plan, which is expected to be ready for submission to the EC by the end of June 1993, will set out the Government's priorities for the use of the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund over the six year period 1994-1999. The plan will be implemented by a series of sectoral operational programmes which will set out in greater detail the particular measures to be assisted. The plan and the operational programmes will not include detailed lists of all the individual projects to be financed. The selection of projects that meet with the criteria set out for the different programmes will be primarily a matter for the Government Departments and agencies responsible for the implementation of the various operational programmes.
