95 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will give a list of the semi-State boards under his aegis where the 40 per cent quota of women has been adhered to by the Government since it accepted the recommendations of the first statement of the Commission on the Status of Women in April, 1991; and if he will further list the boards where the quota has fallen below 40 per cent.
The following table sets out the position regarding membership of boards of State bodies under my aegis. Appointments to the boards of these will, of course, continue to be made in accordance with Government policy. However many of the appointments are made on the nomination of outside bodies. Seven of the nine appointments to CBF and two of the six appointments to Teagasc since April 1991 were made on the basis of such nominations. In the cases of the Dublin and Cork District Milk Boards all members, other than the chairman, are elected.

Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade if he will give a list of the semi-State boards under his aegis where the 40 per cent quota of women had been adhered to by the Government since it accepted the recommendations of the first statement of the Commission on the Status of Women in April, 1991; and if he will further list the boards where the quota has fallen below 40 per cent.
The following is the current position with regard to semi-State boards under my aegis:
Bord Fáilte Éireann:
Two of the nine board members are women, i.e. 22 per cent.
An Bord Tráchtála:
One of the eight board members is a woman, i.e. 12.5 per cent.
CERT:
Six of the twenty members of the Council of CERT are women, i.e. 30 per cent.

None of the semi-State Bodies under the aegis of my Department have reached the 40 per cent quota of women board members since the Government accepted last month the recommendation of the first statement of the Commission on the Status of Women in April, 1991.
