Question:

189 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the up-to-date position concerning mulder milk quotas of a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A SLOM I milk quota was provisionally granted to the person in question by my Department in 1989. However, in 1991 pursuant to Article 3a (3) of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 857/84, this quota was withdrawn as he had failed over the qualifying period set down to meet the conditions required for a permanent allocation. The quota holder was duly notified of his failure to establish a quota.

Question:

190 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the up-to-date position regarding compensation for a milk quota to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A draft Council Regulation providing for an offer of compensation to SLOM milk producers has recently been published by the Commission. It will be open to the person in question to apply for such compensation when the regulation is adopted and the procedures for payment set down.
