Question:125 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the threatened closure of St. John's School, Drogheda, County Louth; and her views on the matter.

Proposals regarding the re-organisation of St. John's (Junior) and St. Paul's (Senior) national schools, Rathmullen, Drogheda, County Louth, into a single co-educational unit have been under consideration in my Department. It is now understood that the local managerial authorities do not wish to proceed with the proposed re-organisation. The matter will be kept under review in the light of enrolment and staffing trends in both schools.
