Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Jimmy Deenihan — The failure of the Government to provide funding for a kidney dialysis unit at Tralee General Hospital, County Kerry; (2) Deputy Hugh Byrne — The one-third reduction in the grant-aid available towards harbour development and coastal erosion on the south-east and east coasts; (3) Deputy Robert Molloy — Whether grant approval will be given for the Lakeshore Road group water supply scheme, Oughterard, County Galway, for which tenders have already been received; (4) Deputy Jim O'Keeffe — Whether further licences will issue on foot of applications to relay or rebroadcast TV channels in the west Cork area; and the action, if any, which can be taken to ensure that viewers in the area can receive TV channels at a reasonable cost; (5) Deputy Alan Shatter — The position of relatives of Bosnian refugees currently in Ireland; and whether these relatives will be allowed entry to the State; (6) Deputy Proinsias De Rossa — The judgement of the European Court in the Cotter and McDermott case given on 13 March 1991 regarding the entitlement of certain women to social welfare alleviation payments; and the failure of the Department of Social Welfare to make payments to other women in similar circumstances except where legal action is initiated; (7) Deputy P. J. Sheehan — The action, if any, which can be taken to assist viewers, particularly in the west Cork area, who are experiencing difficulties in receiving TV channels, in view of the promised review in relation to community television; (8) Deputy John Mulvihill — The plans, if any, the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications has to upgrade both the track and carriages on the Cork-Cobh line in view of the appalling state of the service on that line; (9) Deputy Eamon Gilmore — The subject matter of the reply by the Minister for Justice to Parliamentary Question No. 4 of 13 May 1993 regarding incidents in Limerick Jail in April 1992; (10) Deputy Philip Hogan — The need for an immediate inquiry regarding the inactivity of the Southern Fisheries Board in relation to policing, patrolling and protecting the fish stocks off the south-east coast in view of the damage that is being done to the angling and tourist industry due to the continuation of illegal activity, particularly with regard to the fish stocks on the Rivers Barrow, Nore and Suir; (11) Deputy Mattie Brennan — The serious and urgent problem of poaching on the Easkey River in County Sligo where salmon are being netted indiscriminately and tourists with licences to fish are being subjected to harassment and are being told to leave the area; (12) Deputy Pat Rabbitte — The need to retain a fourth teacher at Saggart national school in the context of the planned residential developments adjacent to the school and the strong parental wish to retain the current teaching complement and (13) Deputy Jim Higgins — The failure of the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to make available the necessary funds in order to enable the hundreds of projects organised by communities and local authorities to go ahead under the social employment scheme.
