Vol. 431 No. 1

Written Answers. - New House Grant Payments.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

79 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment his views on whether it is fair and reasonable that applicants for a new house grant should be denied payment because the construction company failed to produce a tax clearance certificate.

As part of the Government's measures to improve tax administration, the payment of grants, such as new house grants, by public authorities, including Government Departments, is conditional on certain details being furnished of the contractors C2 or Tax Clearance Certificate. There are no proposals to remove this requirement.
