Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

174 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his installation aid grant.

This application cannot be finalised until the applicant has furnished evidence that his title to the land in question has been registered in the Land Registry.

Jim Higgins

Question:

175 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of a headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The application of the person named for grants under the June 1992 special beef premium, cattle headage, equines headage and suckler cow premium schemes were inadvertently overlooked for some time but are now being processed and if found in order should be paid within a forthnight.

He was paid grants on his November/December 1992 special beef premium scheme application in Mid-May 1993.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

177 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will introduce 75 per cent grants for modernisation of dairies to farmers in disadvantaged areas.

It is proposed to include aid towards on-farm investment necessitated by Directive 92/46/EEC in the plan currently being drawn up for the use of the next phase of the Structural Funds. It is not possible, at this stage, to say at what level grant aid will be payable.
