Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Donegal Concessionary Teachers.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

215 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if she will give details of the primary schools in County Donegal that have applied for a concessionary teacher; and when she expects to make a decision on the appointments.

A total of 120 primary schools in County Donegal have applied for inclusion in the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme.

Schools are selected for inclusion in the scheme on the basis of priority of need as determined by reference to a range of socio-economic criteria.

All applicants for inclusion in the scheme are currently being assessed on that basis.

I would expect to be in a position to announce the outcome of this process shortly.
