Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Ivor Callely

Question:

29 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will give a breakdown of the total cost involved to date for his Department under the Government's current programme of decentralisation; if he will clarify the costs and relevant payments to personnel with regard to the relocation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The total cost incurred under my Department's Vote in respect of the decentralisation to Cavan which took place in late 1989 and early 1990 was £427,500.

It is proposed that the work connected with the special beef premium scheme will be relocated to Portlaoise in the near future but to date no costs have been charged to my Department's Vote in respect of this decentralisation.
