Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Application of Section 24 of the Companies Act.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

118 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he will expedite the decision on the application under section 24 of the Companies Act, 1963, to dispense with the use of the word limited from the title of the North Louth Hospice and Home Care Foundation which has been formed to promote hospice and home care in the North Louth area by voluntary means by persons with no material interest therein; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The organisation in question has applied under section 24 of the Companies Act, 1963 to be registered as a company with limited liability but without the addition of the word "limited" to its title. Certain requirements have been indicated to the agency processing the legal aspects on behalf of the promoters. Once these matters have been attended to, the appropriate licence can be finalised without undue delay.
