Vol. 431 No. 3

Written Answers. - Bray (Wicklow) Estate Funding.

Liz McManus

Question:

125 Ms McManus asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends to grant funding for the completion of the Oldcourt Estate in Bray, County Wicklow, in view of the urgency of the matter.

An allocation of £100,000 was made to Bray Urban District Council in 1993 to bring to £4.6 million the amount allocated to them to date under the remedial works scheme for this project. Proposals made by the council for the landscaping/ environmental aspects of the project are under examination and my Department will shortly be in a position to notify the UDC of the extent to which these works will be eligible for funding under the scheme. When the all-in cost of works eligible for funding has been established, the allocation notified to the council will be reviewed later in the year in the light of spending by the council and local authorities generally.
