Vol. 431 No. 7

Written Answers - Heritage Protection.

Paul Bradford

Question:

41 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if his attention has been drawn to the widespread damage and destruction of the built heritage of this country; and the plans, if any, he has to implement a policy of protection in this area.

Reports of damage to our built heritage have come to my attention. One of the tasks being undertaken by my Department is a review of existing laws and procedures for the protection of our monuments. When this has been completed, I will be taking steps to overcome any deficiencies identified.
