162 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the fact that it is intended to locate a sewage treatment plant on the site to be reclaimed at Barnaderg, Letter-frack, Connemara, County Galway, by filling in part of Barnaderg Bay.
An application for permission to develop a car park facility on the foreshore at the location in question was received in January 1992. An offer of a lease was formally accepted by the company concerned on 1 June 1993. The draft lease provides for the development of the car park in accordance with the plans and drawings submitted with the application. No application for permission to locate a sewage treatment plant on the site has been received by the Department of the Marine.
