Vol. 432 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Museum Annual Report and Accounts.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

200 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the reason the Annual Report and Accounts for 1991 of the National Museum have not been submitted.

The Board of Visitors of the National Museum are responsible for the compilation and submission of an Annual Report. The last such report prepared was in respect of 1990. The Board of Visitors are working on a combined 1991-92 report which I expect to be submitted shortly.

The expenditure and revenues of the National Museum are treated as part of my Department's Vote in the same way as those of any Government Department and are audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General in the normal way. The museum's accounts for 1991 have already been certified and published in the relevant Appropriation Accounts.
