Vol. 432 No. 1

Written Answers. - Representation on Eastern Health Board.

Seán Barrett

Question:

212 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for Health the representation the three new county councils in Dublin will have on the Eastern Health Board after their establishment on 1 January 1994.

I am currently considering what representation the new Dublin county councils should have on the Eastern Health Board. It is my intention that arrangements for such appointments will be included, with the agreement of my colleague the Minister for the Environment, in the local government Bill dealing with the establishment of the new counties. In determining the representation to recommend to Government, I will be taking into account that this will be a short term interim arrangement pending the reorganisation of health structures in the Eastern Health Board area. The latter issue will be addressed in the national health strategy which I will be publishing later in the year.
