215 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the financial position of Dublin Zoo; the financial liabilities of the zoo to the State; the total grants made available to the zoo for 1993; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Dublin Zoo is operated by the Royal Zoological Society of Ireland which is a private body. My Department is not therefore in a position to give information on its financial state.

My Department is not aware that the zoo has any financial liabilities to the State, and has not given any grants in 1993.
