Vol. 432 No. 1

Written Answers. - Woodbrook (Roscommon) School.

John Connor

Question:

111 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the conditions existing at St. Michael's national school, Woodbrook, Carrick-on-Shannon, where deficiencies include lack of classroom space, inadequate toilet facilities, the absence of central heating, and the general deterioration in the fabric of the main building; and if she will provide the necessary finance to the school's board of management to carry out work in 1993.

My Department has recently received an application from the school authorities for a grant towards the provision of a new classroom and ancillary accommodation, together with remedial works to the heating installation. The matter is under consideration in my Department and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities at an early date.
