Vol. 432 No. 3

Written Answers. - MRI Scanners.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

172 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has to install the MRI scanner at the other centre for neurological procedures in the State.

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging facility which has recently been provided at Beaumont Hospital, the national neuro-surgical centre, is intended to function as a national resource for the public hospital service.

The provision of MRI equipment at other centres will have to be considered in the light of the many competing equipment requirements nationally and the resources available for this purpose.
