Vol. 432 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Birth.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

173 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if he will have the necessary arrangements made to have the birth of a person (details supplied) in County Cork registered.

The administration of the registration system is a matter for the Registrar-General of Births and Deaths and for local registrars who operate under his general direction.

I understand that to date no application to have the birth in question registered has been made either to the Registrar-General or the local district registrar.

However, as registration in this case will require the authority of the Registrar-General, an application should now be made to his office at Joyce House, 8/11 Lombard Street East, Dublin 2 and it will be processed in the normal way as soon as it is received there.
