91 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health if his Department will provide the necessary finance for the provision of a permanent day care facility for the elderly in Cashel, County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The provision of day care services for the elderly in Cashel is the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. I understand that a day care service for the elderly is provided in the Presentation Convent on one day per week, with financial support from the Board.
It is the Board's intention to provide a more comprehensive day service in Cashel, in association with the voluntary organisations, when resources permit.
