Question:65 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice the number of thefts reported in the past six months; the number of prosecutions taken or pending on foot of these; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that information in relation to the number of recorded larcenies is published in the Garda Commissioner's Annual Report on Crime, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The 1992 report will be published shortly. Figures for 1993 are not yet available.
