Vol. 433 No. 5
132 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health the amount of money that has been paid to health boards from registration by food producers in the years 1991, 1992 and for the first six months of 1993.
I understand the information the Deputy is seeking refers to home based producers. The figures available from the health boards for the periods in question are as follows:

133 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health the number of food producers that have gone out of business after being approached by Health Boards regarding registration.
From time to time certain food businesses may consider that the minimum requirements necessary to protect public health impose a prohibitive cost on them and decide to close their business. While such eventualities are rare no specific records are currently kept by my Department on the numbers of businesses so affected.
