Vol. 433 No. 5

Written Answers. - Clare School Capitation Grant.

Tony Killeen

Question:

146 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Education when the payment of a maximum capitation grant will be made to Bansha national school, Kilkee, County Clare; and when responsibility for maintenance will be transferred to the local management.

Bansha national school is one of a number of schools which has been referred to in the past as Office of Public Works schools.

Arrangements for the transferral of responsibility for the maintenance of these schools to local management and the payment of full capitation grants to them are currently being considered in my Department.

Meantime, maintenance will be conducted by the Office of Public Works. The schools will continue to be paid capitation grant at the appropriate rate.
